We held our second annual Northwest Native Women’s Conference in April 2005 in Auburn, Washington. The celebration was graciously hosted on the Muckleshoot Reservation at their beautiful White River Amphitheatre River Lodge.
We were welcomed onto the land by Muckleshoot elders. The ladies from the tribe drummed and sang in their own language as we worshipped the Lord. They were beautifully adorned in traditional cedar hats and coastal regalia. The presence of the Lord was rich and full from the moment worship began led by Cheryl Bear and Friends.
The Lord met the needs of women through our speakers Fern Noble, Rita Bear Gray, and Howard and Yvonne Echo-Hawk. The Father’s heart of love, acceptance, forgiveness and especially adoption into the family of God was experienced by many through the ministry of the Holy Spirit.
The women danced and worshipped before the Lord with great joy and freedom, some for the very first time. The truth of God’s Word and the liberty it brings invited His daughters to fulfill their destiny to go forth in joy back to their homes, families, reservations, churches, and local gatherings. After a delicious traditional salmon dinner, the ladies did just that.
